UNDERSTANDING

The Wisdom and Words of Dadi Janki taken from her book 'Companion of God'

Most people don't understand themselves. There isn't the patience to understand themselves or others. We need to make time for this.We get too impatient. Very often, because we are not willing to take time to listen, misunderstandings continue. We don't take the time to listen to someone quietly and try to understand them. Then we start inventing things about them, because we simply haven't taken the time to understand.

  3. Listening is not hearing. It is more focused. We do not retain even half oof what we hear but when we listen we retain more.Attuning the mind as we listen creates a new awareness and meanings.
It is nice that you are posting gems of thought.Thank you

Yes, listening and understanding someone is important all the time...sadly, most of the time people try to do one and not the other resulting in failed relationships. Some people pretend to listen only to plot along the way...robbing the other of their innocence. These are people much closer to you and not strangers, literally speaking. People you speak so well about because they exist in your life like a 'beam' but only plotting all the while against someone else...in the end, robbing the other of their dignity, trust, peace of mind and money. But all along, yes....listening to you and me...
