In Harmony

" To understand others is to be in harmony with them."

Sometimes we expect others to have the same level of qualities or understanding as we have. We are not able to accept or understand the other person's behaviour or words if they are different. Thus we form an attitude towards the person and we are not able to get along well. All we have to do is, we need to recognize the fact that like the musical notes, we are all different. Only when we harmonize together can we create a beautiful tune in life. We shall then not expect the other person to change according to us but will learn to understand and blend our personality with that person. In the process, we shall make ourself 'more' than we are and so will the other person.

  1. I am no Brahma Kumari or saint or sufi...but I live by that policy mostly, i think

But then, there ofcourse are people whom I cannot get alongwith....in the larger scheme they are there...i don't want my personality to be blended none-the-least affected by them -- I am clear there...i don't mind my personality being so much less :)

Venus, I have been to a Brahma Kumari mutt here...just out of my fancy to know...you know they people don't speak freely with an outsider!!

Thats so true & well said...I can't agree more with you...we do need to be accommodating and have understanding for the person on the other side also with a clear perspective and not with some pre-conceived perceptions....nice writing!
